Along with the advancement in IT field, we are really served by these technologies. It is getting easier for us to get good sites with some awesome enhancements -- visual enhancements -- offered slightly after point-and-clicking the link. This visual advancements is enormously grow as exponential growth. But then it leads to some vital yet unawared problem : View-ability of the site created thereof.
We can get an easy example of these websites. Indosat (Indonesian Telecom Service Provider) homepage [ www.indosat.com]. It takes 5 minutes on broadband connection to load neatly. PLN (Indonesian Electric Power Provider : www.pln.co.id ) is far more worse. It needs 10 minutes to load, and guess what? It is not finished yet! But here we got the worse of all : Banjarnegara District Government homepage (www.banjarnegarakab.go.id)! It is still 30% loaded after 10 minutes! What a wasteful time we spend!
But the worst of all those are just yet to come. Those sites mentioned above are essentially lack of information needed by the visitor! So we waste a huge amount of time for nothing! Essentially NOTHING!
By this writing, i hope that this is the time to change. We MUST encourage ourselves to make a change to this particular issue. We may not build our own homepages. But at least, we can give some beautiful critics to the administrator of the "egoist" homepages to care about it's viewers. We hope that this change should begin right after we finished reading the last word of this writing.
And last, yet even more important than the criticism itself, there are good homepages available on the net too. It cares of it's viewers. It broaden the viewers range by using FRIENDLY (VISUAL) DESIGN of it's homepages. Example follows : GNU homepage (www.gnu.org), FreeBSD Project homepage (www.freebsd.org), NetBSD Project homepage, KDE Project homepage (www.kde.org), and many others. These example, have a --relative-- nice face with plenty informations in it. And those load quickly.
